Gun-Free Zones Coming Your Way
You don’t need politicians telling you how to live your life. But that’s not stopping Mr. Big Gulp himself, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, from sticking his thumb in every pie. Now he’s targeting Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire for rejecting the recent gun bill in the Senate. … [Read more...]
Shotgun Malfunction
You don’t want to find out the hard way that your shotgun doesn’t work as advertised. As you can see in this video, less powerful shells can jam. This happened to me numerous times at a shotgun training course. I had no problem when I switched to a pump action. Keeping it simple is always the way to go especially for self-defense. … [Read more...]
Surviving the Ammo Shortage
If you’ve tried to buy ammo lately, then you know what it feels like to do without—especially at a reasonable price for .22 LR—it’s as rare as hens’ teeth. The disruption in the supply has no end in sight. I shoot on average about 200 rounds a week at my rifle club. Yet there are some simple solutions and tools to use that are helpful and easy to understand. One of them is a fund to which I recently made a sizable contribution. But first let’s look at the dismal reality of the 401(k), which most baby boomers will depend on in retirement. Your 401(k) isn’t worth as much as you think it is. That’s because at age 70½ you need to begin making annual withdrawals based on an IRS life expectancy table and pay taxes at your ordinary income … [Read more...]
GM and the Forgotten Men
The progressive U.S. Government now owns 60% of GM thanks to a taxpayer funded $50 billion assault begun by George Bush and finished by Barack Obama. After less than 50 days in Chapter 11, GM is 89.5% owned by a combination of the U.S. Government, the United Auto Workers union (17.5%) and Canada (12%). GM holds onto its #1 market share position beating Ford, Toyota, Honda, Chrysler and Nissan, no thanks to a long list of groups that carried the risk and have lost everything. GM was bankrupted by its unmanageable and unrealistic healthcare, pension and union costs. The costs should have been … [Read more...]
