Legendary “Wrecking Crew” drummer Hal Blaine passed away this week. Blaine was the studio drummer on thousands of songs, and hundreds of hits. One of the best was Good Vibrations from Brian Wilson’s masterpiece album, Pet Sounds. It was the Beach Boys’ eleventh album, and Wilson wanted it to be perfect. Blaine was the obvious choice on drums. Blaine would end his career as “the most recorded drummer in history.” Rest in peace Hal.
