According to a report by CNBC, former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, one of America's wealthiest and most vocal gun control advocates, could run for president if Joe Biden drops out of the race. Brian Schwartz reports: Mike Bloomberg might end up running for president, after all. Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York, has indicated to associates in recent weeks that Joe Biden’s recent struggles against Sen. Elizabeth Warren are making him rethink his decision to stay out of the 2020 Democratic primary. That’s according to people familiar with the discussions who spoke on … [Read more...]
They’re Not Getting My Guns
One thing was clear in last night’s Democrat debate. They don’t know guns. And if you own one, they’re coming for it. “Hell, yes we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” vowed former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke. They’ll start with your AR-15 (I own a Colt) and then your AK-47 (also in our family). And then they’ll go right on down the line to strip you of a Constitutional right. As my daughter and I watched together, she was clearly upset: “How can they be saying this?” “How can they believe that?” Because in their hearts they believe they can run my family better … [Read more...]
Here’s Some Good News out of California
The sheriff of Tulare County has had enough of active shooters taking people's lives with no resistance. He's encouraging the citizens of his county to exercise their right to bear arms, and carry concealed with a permit in order to protect themselves and those around them. America's First Freedom reports: Sheriff Mike Boudreaux of Tulare County, Calif., recently he took to Twitter to make a statement in support of the Second Amendment. Sheriff Boudreaux tweeted: “I encourage all CCW holders in Tulare County to exercise your rights. Do so legally and only with a valid permit. Secure our … [Read more...]
These Scared Democrats Made the Mistake of Threatening the Supreme Court over the Second Amendment
A group of five Democratic senators, including Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) and current Democratic presidential primary candidate Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), are terrified that a case against draconian gun control rules like the one enforced until recently in New York City will be revealed as the unconstitutional burdens they are. The Democrats threaten the court's justices with a "restructuring" if they don't acquiesce to the demands of the gun control movement. Frank Miniter, Editor in Chief of the NRA's … [Read more...]
America’s New Firearms Owners are Not Who You Think
Despite the stereotypical image of a gun owner being a rural, older man, the trend new target shooters has gotten younger, more female, and more rural. The NRA's First Freedom magazine reports that data from the National Shooting Sports Foundation shows that not only has the number of target shooters risen by 51% since 2009, but that new shooters are much more likely to be young, female and live in suburban and urban areas. Brian McCombie reports: Retirement age or even older country rednecks—such is the cliché view of an American gun owner as perpetuated by the mainstream media and its … [Read more...]
Democrats Ignoring Reality with Calls for Useless Gun Control
At The Wall Street Journal, Kimberley Strassel correctly describes Democrats' gun control proposals as reflexive and predictable. The so-called "solutions" being offered by Democrats have nothing to do with the recent shootings or even most shootings for that matter. But to Democratic voters these proposals sound good, and therefore to the 25 Democrats running for the party's nomination for the 2020 presidential race, they sound good too. Here's Strassel describing some of the candidates' plans to infringe on your Second Amendment rights: Texas’ former Rep. Beto O’Rourke said he is now … [Read more...]
How Many Politicians Have Even Shot a Gun?
That's the question asked by Norris Sweidan, owner of Warrior One Guns & Ammo in Riverside, Calif., where the walls are lined with AR- and AK-style rifles modified to be legal in the state, when he told The Wall Street Journal, “They all shoot the same. These people that are passing the laws, how many of them do you think have actually shot a gun?” The obvious answer from watching politicians talk about guns is, not many. Perhaps the best known example of a politician displaying his complete ignorance of firearms is California State Senator Kevin De Leon's "ghost gun" monologue. Watch … [Read more...]
American Gun Owners Are Afraid of 2020: Gun Stocks are Rising
Nearly all the Democrats running have expressed their desire to impose draconian gun control measures on Americans. As the threats to Americans' gun rights in 2020 become clearer, many Americans are taking my advice to get their guns and their training now. The number of background checks rose in May compared to the year before, meaning more Americans were out attempting to buy firearms. Americans' firearms buying habits are an indicator of their perception of political risk that I use as a part of my monthly RAGE Gauge computation. Another group paying attention to firearms purchases … [Read more...]
Here’s Why Americans Need High-Capacity Magazines
J. Eric Dietz of the Purdue Homeland Security Institute explains to NRA TV's Cam Edwards why high capacity magazines are vital to Americans' self-defense capabilities. If you haven't already gotten your guns and your training, I suggest you do both now. … [Read more...]
More Gun Control Equals More Crime in Colorado
On NRATV's show Cam & Co., host Cam Edwards explains the failure of Colorado's expansion of gun control under Governor John Hickenlooper. Edwards notes that Hickenlooper and other gun control advocates like Sen. Cory Booker are running for president. Despite the evidence that these gun control measures do nothing, the radicals in the Democrat Party seem bent on enacting them to punish law abiding gun owners. Anyone with the ability to do so should get their guns and their training now. … [Read more...]
