DON’T MISS: Your Survival Guy’s 2023 Super States

UPDATE 1.2.24: Soon, Your Survival Guy will release his 2024 Super States. Take a look now at which states caught Your Survival Guy’s eye in 2023.

Your Survival Guy’s long-awaited 2023 Super States is in, and while some states have never looked more attractive, others are picking your pockets. You know exactly what I’m talking about when the new capitals of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and California are Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, and Austin.

Your Survival Guy’s number one state (again) is the “Live Free or Die” state of New Hampshire, mainly because I’m a resident, and because when I look at a map of New England, New Hampshire is a lighthouse shining bright for freedom seekers.

Yes, I love the free state of Florida, and I spend a lot of time there. But I’m tied to the northeast because of family and personal preference. Let’s not forget this is a competition. When I talk with clients who have moved from New York or New Jersey to Pennsylvania, they say it’s relatively better, and they enjoy being close to family.

With the coldest temperatures of the year hitting last weekend, it can be freezing in New England. I like to ski. I like the snow. But I can understand why others might not enjoy sitting on a freezing chairlift and walking on icy sidewalks. For me, it’s a lot like living on the water: once you do, it’s hard to see life any other way.

I can certainly appreciate how others feel about the pull of the prairie and ranching life, but my cowboying urge is satisfied by watching Yellowstone and taking a summer trip to the Ranch at Rock Creek (not exactly roughing it). But I could live in a ski town out west in a heartbeat.

Take Your Survival Guy’s Super States ’23 and use it to make a back of a napkin scorecard for you and your family and find your best America. When you need help with Your Retirement Life, I’m here.
