Tipping in Paris and Le Bristol Celebrates 100 Years

From Le Bristol:

Authentic Parisian elegance since 1925

Le Bristol Paris is an icon of French elegance and art de vivre in an exceptional setting in Paris. The timeless heart of a vibrant city, Le Bristol is renowned for its outstanding, Michelin-starred dining tradition, fragrant courtyard garden, extraordinary rooftop swimming pool and collection of artisan ateliers. This legendary hotel celebrated its centenary during 2025.

Your Survival Guy received a text this week from my brother-in-law, who, along with my sister and their daughter, are visiting their son who is studying for a semester in London. They took the Chunnel to Paris and had dinner at one of our faves, Chez Andres.

“Do you tip in Paris?” he texted.

“It’s not expected,” I texted a bit later, “But we do, depending on the experience.”

“Too late,” he said. “I did.”

“It will be appreciated,” I said.

Make your plans now to get out there and see the world because if you don’t, you’ll be a year older this time next year.

The Newport office is on a quiet, tree lined street not far from the harbor and the log cabin in Bartlett, NH, the “Live Free or Die” state, sits on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest.
