Federal government employees working for the Department of Health and Human Services have been told to avoid their offices in the Nancy Pelosi Federal Building on San Francisco's Seventh Street. You see, California and San Francisco's lax legal enforcement has allowed fentanyl dealers to take over the area outside the building, making it a No-Go Zone for those who are employed inside. Megan Cassidy reports in the San Francisco Chronicle: HHS Assistant Secretary for Administration Cheryl R. Campbell issued the stay-home recommendation in an Aug. 4 memo to regional leaders. “In light of the … [Read more...]

The enforcement of a law banning 18-20-year-olds from buying guns in Colorado was temporarily blocked by Chief District Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Philip A. NRA’s Concealed Carry Battle with NY Escalates
After winning a big victory against "may issue" laws like New York's in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, the NRA and other gun rights groups are headed back into battle after NY's Governor Kathy Hochul and the state's legislature passed new laws in direct contradiction to the spirit of the Supreme Court's ruling in Bruen. At America's 1st Freedom (an NRA magazine), Frank Miniter explains the NRA's new challenge, writing: “A year ago today, the Supreme Court ruled to strip away the rights of a governor to protect her people from concealed carry … [Read more...]

Are You Carrying Concealed in Florida?
Florida's constitutional concealed carry law went into effect on July 1, and contrary to predictions by anti-gun activists, the world has not ended. “Guns Are Not Why Some Give Up”
An “expert” panel wrote a report for the Department of Defense entitled “Preventing Suicide in the U.S. Military: Recommendations from the Suicide Prevention and Response Independent Review Committee.” You can see where this is going. “The report,” writes Susanne Edward in America’s 1st Freedom, “recommends that the federal government put in place various gun-control measures for our armed forces under the guise of suicide prevention.” Edward continues: Thus, the DoD’s premise of slashing access to firearms doesn’t hold up to even a basic analysis. It is simply not proven that gun control … [Read more...]
