You sent me this great note and the pictures of your big catch:
E.J.,
Reading Survive and Thrive this evening, and thought you would enjoy these photos. I took my sister-in-law out spearing two weeks ago. The dark house is a half mile from our new home in the background. It was an exciting 7 seconds. As the pictures show, the spear tines are barely in the pike. A miracle that I was able to get it out. I’ve taken quite a few big fish, but not 41 & 1/2 “. That’s in 40-plus years. She will take this one to the taxidermist. Normally, we pickle the pike.
Action Line: Most days you’ll never remember, but some you’ll never forget. Pulling a 41.5″ pike out of the ice on a spear is something that won’t fade for a lifetime. Making memories like this is as good as it gets. Share your unforgettable moments with me at ejsmith@yoursurvivalguy.com.
