You have probably noticed a number of moments recently when it seemed that perhaps Joe Biden is not entirely happy with Kamala Harris coopting his political campaign and taking his place as the Democrats’ nominee for the presidency. Recently, Biden told reporters in the White House briefing room that he was “back in” the race. He also wore a Trump campaign hat during an event, smiling the whole time. While Harris has been trying to distance herself from Biden’s disastrous term in the White House, Biden has explained that Harris was an integral part of his policymaking. Tensions are high, and according to reporting by Jack Posobiec of Human Events, staffers for the Biden and Harris teams even had a confrontation in the White House. Now Biden and Harris have come out with completely different statements regarding Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his cooperation with federal efforts to help those in areas about to be impacted by Hurricane Milton. The Wall Street Journal’s Notable and Quotable reports:
Vice President Kamala Harris responding to a reporter’s question at Andrews Air Force Base, Oct. 7:
Q: NBC is reporting Governor [Ron] DeSantis is ignoring your calls on hurricane resources and help. How does that hurt the situation here?
Harris: You know, moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader, says they’re going to put politics aside and put the people first. People are in desperate need of support right now, and playing political games with this moment in these crisis situations—these are the height of emergency situations—is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish, and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.
President Biden at the White House Oct. 8:
The governor of Florida has been cooperative. He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I have talked to him again yesterday, and I said boy, I really—I said, no, you’re doing a great job, it’s all being done well, we thank you for it. And I literally gave him my personal phone number to call. So I don’t know—there was a rough start in some places, but every governor—every governor from Florida to North Carolina has been fully cooperative and supportive and acknowledged what this team is doing, and they’re doing an incredible job. We’ve got a lot more to do.
Action Line: Kamala Harris is clueless about what’s going on in Florida, and even Biden can see DeSantis’s excellent leadership. Click here to subscribe to my free monthly Survive & Thrive letter.
