“How are we doing?” is a phrase that Your Survival Guy never likes to hear. Right off the bat, someone else is putting me in their boat without my permission. It’s never comfortable being on someone else’s boat and then being asked as if you’re the captain, “How are we doing?” I was doing just fine.
Now, after looking at frayed lines strewn about the deck, not so much. Because when I’m asked that question and then listen to the list of problems that individual is facing, “How we doing?” are the last words this individual should be saying.
Investing, like one’s career, has a lot to do with looking in the mirror. At some point, when you have enough money, it will be time to hire a captain.
