Who’s In, and Who’s Out of the First GOP Debate?

Some of the 2024 GOP presidential primary candidates. Clockwise from top left: President Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott, VP Mike Pence, Gov. Chris Christie, and center, Amb. Nikki Haley.

The stage is set for the first GOP primary debate, which will be streamed live on Rumble and aired on Fox News on Wednesday night (August 23) from Milwaukee. The most important thing you need to know about the debate is that President Donald Trump will not be there. Trump has decided to air an interview with Tucker Carlson instead. The GOP primary candidates who will join the debate include:

  • Governor Doug Burgum
  • Governor Chris Christie
  • Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Ambassador Nikki Haley
  • Governor Asa Hutchinson
  • Vice President Mike Pence
  • Vivek Ramaswamy
  • Senator Tim Scott
