Anti-gun activists are desperately trying to implement new gun controls across America, including bans on so-called “assault weapons.” They have been pushing these bans for decades, and in 2013, Quinnipiac began polling support for such measures. Today, support for assault weapons bans is the lowest it’s ever been. Fox News reports:
New polling shows that support for an “assault weapons” ban in the United States has hit an all-time low despite calls from Democrats to implement a ban following a deadly mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
In a Quinnipiac University poll, conducted last week and published on Tuesday, 50 percent of registered voters support a nationwide ban on semi-automatic long guns compared to 45% who oppose which represents the lowest level of support since February 2013 when Quinnipiac began asking that question.
The highest level of support for the ban was 67% in February 2018, days after the Parkland school shooting that left 17 people dead.
What’s changed? You may be wondering why Americans would change their minds about such rules, but the answer is easy. Democrats unleashed a wave of mob-driven crime and looting on America, exactly the type of crime you might need an AR-15 to defend yourself from. And Americans have watched as Democrats have avoided taking any real measures to protect children, like putting school resource officers in schools, to instead use the issue of gun control as a never-ending wedge they can exploit for political advantage.
