Ready for the Storm?

The East Coast could soon get hammered by a major Nor’easter. Are you prepared? Has your generator been serviced? Is your boat safe? Have you put some power away in the pantry? There’s a lot to consider when facing threatening weather patterns.

FOX Weather warns of the storm:

Parts of the East Coast will be battered by gusty winds and rain through the workweek as the first nor’easter of fall develops. The storm is expected to emerge off the coast toward the end of the week and could bring high surf, strong winds, coastal flooding and severe beach erosion through the weekend.

The system will begin developing Monday and continue through the weekend as a sharp fall cold front pushes off the coast, bringing rain to the Ohio Valley and parts of the Mid-Atlantic while strong high pressure builds to the north.

Strong northeasterly winds will develop across the offshore and coastal waters, producing powerful wind gusts.

Seas will rise rapidly, creating heavy surf and dangerous, battering waves along exposed beaches.

P.S. There are a million things you can do to prepare for a disaster, and it can become overwhelming to do. For a brief list of some of the basic things you want to keep at home, FEMA has developed a “Disaster Supplies Checklist.” Read it below and use it as a guide for your own preparations.
