A Key West Cottage in Old Town

In The Wall Street Journal, Jessica Flint details the listing of a 118-year-old cottage for sale in Old Town Key West. Flint writes:

Like many of the island’s historic cottages, the home was a modest structure that grew over time through additions. While strict Old Town preservation rules protected the wooden facade, the Feigenbaums saw an opportunity to modernize the interior.

They spent roughly $350,000 on a renovation that gave priority to indoor-outdoor living. By updating the floor plan with french doors, they created an L-shaped layout where the kitchen, bar and living area spill onto the deck.

Your Survival Guy knows exactly where this house is in Key West, not far from high ground near the cemetery. I also remember being locked in the cemetery, which you can read about here. What I can tell you about real estate in Old Town Key West is that prices may have come down a bit, but it’s shocking how high they still are and will most likely remain.
