Yesterday, Michael and Susan Dell delivered $250 to 25 million Trump accounts opened for kids across America. In a post on X.com, Dell noted that the money would be “Compounding for decades.”

The generous gift from the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation will be a boon for a new generation of Americans who will understand the value of compounding from a young age. To increase participation in that vision, the Treasury has announced automatic enrollment for Trump accounts for children under eighteen (who have a valid Social Security number). The Treasury Department announced:

Treasury Announces the Completion of Automatic Enrollment Today for Trump Accounts

October 1, 2026

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the completion of automatic enrollment for Trump Accounts, expanding access and creating a pathway for philanthropic contributions to invest in the financial futures of millions of American children.

Trump Accounts are tax-advantaged investment accounts for American children under the age of eighteen. Claiming a child’s account is a powerful step toward building lifelong financial security.

“Millions of children have already enrolled in Trump Accounts. With automatic enrollment, over 60 million more eligible children now have an account ready to be claimed,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “This is a transformative milestone in the Trump Administration’s effort to give every American child the opportunity to build generational wealth and jump-start their financial future.”

CLAIMING YOUR CHILD’S AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED TRUMP ACCOUNT

With automatic enrollment complete, every eligible child under the age of eighteen with a valid Social Security number now has a Trump Account.

A parent or guardian must claim the child’s automatically enrolled Trump Account to manage it and allow for family members, friends, and employers to contribute.

To claim your child’s Trump Account, download the official Trump Accounts app, available for iOS and Android.

During the claiming process, a parent or guardian will verify their identity and relationship to their child, review the child’s information, and accept the account terms.

Eligible children must also have their Trump Account claimed to receive the one-time $1,000 seed contribution from Treasury.
