You Can’t Help But See the Truth About the Soviet Union in Chernobyl

Have you seen the HBO miniseries Chernobyl? It’s not exactly uplifting.

But it gives you an inside look into why the Soviet Union collapsed—the truth got out.

And it was a catalyst for me to explain socialism to my high school-aged son.

It’s heartbreaking.

And it’s hard not to get stuck on Chernobyl after you see it.

That’s why when Chernobyl was over we watched Red Army for another personal account of what it was like being a star player for the team around the same time before and after Chernobyl.

The connection between the two reflects the pressure cooker the Soviet Union had become and it’s eventual demise.
