You have already seen three states, Alabama, Ohio, and Indiana, successfully adopt constitutional carry laws this year. Now Georgia is nearing the end stages of its own legislative push for gun rights.
The NRA reports that’s in Georgia, a version of its constitutional carry bill has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee. They write:
Today [March 24], the Senate Judiciary Committee passed House Bill 1358 as a committee substitute with language from Senate Bill 319. Then, the House Judiciary Committee passed Senate Bill 319 as a committee substitute with language from House Bill 1358. They will now go to the chamber floors for further consideration.
Constitutional carry allows a law-abiding adult who is legally allowed to carry a concealed firearm, to do so without first having to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have the right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Additionally, this legislation maintains the existing concealed handgun license system, so citizens who still wish to obtain a permit may do so.
