No one in their right mind supports gun violence. But taking guns away from law-abiding citizens is not going to solve the problem. It will do nothing to secure the safety of schools, or anywhere else. And calling an AR-15 an assault rifle is like calling a fork a spoon. It’s ignorant. It’s misinformed. It’s not an automatic rifle.
I could run through the statistics of how few people are killed by AR-15s compared to other firearms, or cars, or fast food, but that wouldn’t stop the left from demonizing them.
They don’t want to take your AR-15 away because it was used to murder someone. They want to take it away because it’s the clearest symbol that you are a citizen and not their subject.
While the federal government never runs out of new ways to infringe on your freedom, there is hope among the states. This year alone four states have passed legislation enacting constitutional carry laws, protecting citizens’ right to carry a firearm. Georgia, Alabama, Ohio, and Indiana all adopted constitutional carry laws in 2022. That brings the total number of states to 25.
Nebraska, Louisiana, and Florida all have legislation on the back burner as well and could join the list of constitutional carry states by the end of the year, though that may be unlikely.
Action Line: Don’t let anyone tell you that infringing on your rights will protect you. Get your gun and your training now.
