Your Survival Guy wants to share a personal story with you. It’s from a client who’s finally calling it quits. Dr. Lee Payne and I have been working together for close to 20-years but when you consider his affiliation with Richard C. Young’s Intelligence Report, we’re talking more like 40-years, and many more to come. Dr. Payne remembers reading Dick’s investment letters, believing in Dick’s philosophy and putting it to work. Dick’s letter was a monthly reminder that helped Lee beat inertia. Lee invested in himself (my favorite investment) and his business, and what was left over he invested … [Read more...]

Last year, Americans in blue states and cities across the country fled the violence and disease in their cities, buying homes in places like Florida, Texas, New Hampshire, and Wyoming. The truth is, many of them had been looking for the chance to get out for years, but until remote work gave them the opportunity, they were stuck paying high taxes and suffering the high costs of living. With COVID and looting subsiding it was possible the trend would reverse, but in fact in 2021 in California, it's accelerating. A new study from Stanford reports that more businesses have already left … [Read more...]

Your Survival Guy’s Disney Trip Part II/Heart Strings/College…YOU
OK, here’s what’s on Your Survival Guy’s mind this morning, one week after returning from the happiest place on earth (You can read about our Disney trip here). The last time we were at Disney was ten years ago. There’s a picture in our house of Izzy and Owen standing in front of the entrance of the Magic Kingdom with all the flowers and the train station in the background. Every time I walk by that picture, I remember that day like it was yesterday. While we were getting ready for this trip, Izzy, soon to be twenty, said to Becky and me, “I don’t need you two falling apart crying … [Read more...]

2020 Exposed the Madness of Living in Big Cities
America's big cities are normally a balanced churn of people arriving and people departing, but 2020 tipped the balance. Residents rushed to escape the city, with Americans eager to build islands for their families away from the riots, looting, and COVID lockdowns imposed on them by governors gone wild. Other Americans who would normally have moved into the city were too afraid or just didn't want to deal with COVID restrictions, and mass unrest. In big blue cities, where the wealthy are treated like a piggy bank for politicians focused on their own legacies, departures soared. With remote … [Read more...]
