Remember when Joe Biden praised Beto O'Rourke as someone who could lead his efforts on gun control? Remember Beto O'Rourke's signature line about guns in the Democratic debates? “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.” Remember when Biden wanted to appoint avowed gun-grabber David Chipman as head of the BATFE? Now, out of the darkness, Biden's backdoor gun registry scheme has been revealed. Documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show that the Biden administration has been building a backdoor gun registry with its collection of records on millions of Americans. The gubernatorial election in Virginia has become a battle over parents' rights to influence their children's education, but that's not the only issue at hand. Virginia's Democrat-controlled legislature is keen on restricting Virginians' Second Amendment freedoms, and Terry McAuliffe is eager to help them. Garrett O'Leary explains in America's 1st Freedom just how bad it would be if Terry McAuliffe moved back into the Virginia governor's mansion. He writes: With only two gubernatorial elections being held throughout the nation this year, Virginia’s has come into the national spotlight. This … [Read more...]

Storied firearms manufacturer, Smith & Wesson, has decided to leave Springfield, Massachusetts, its home for 169 years, to move to Knoxville, Tennessee. The anti-gun climate of Massachusetts, where the legislature is considering bills that would outlaw the manufacture of sporting rifles like those that generate much of Smith & Wesson's revenue, has encouraged the company to look to friendlier ground. The Boston Globe reports: The gunmaker Smith & Wesson, based in Springfield since it was founded in 1852, announced Thursday that it will move its headquarters to Tennessee, due to … [Read more...]

SECOND AMENDMENT: Guess Who’s Buying All the Guns
You know that it's been a tough year-and-a-half to buy guns or ammo, or really anything shooting-related. I talk to many gun shop owners regularly, and anecdotally I knew more women were buying guns than ever before, but now the numbers are in and they are epic. Nearly half of the gun buyers from the start of 2019 to April 2021 were women. That's an unprecedented uptick in females buying firearms. No wonder shelves have been bare. Zusha Elinson reports on the trend in The Wall Street Journal, writing: Close to half of all new U.S. gun buyers since the beginning of 2019 have been women, … [Read more...]
Discriminatory Rules Prevent Black Americans from Buying Guns
Discriminatory rules in cities like Oakland prevent black Americans from buying guns, despite oftentimes living in neighborhoods where self-defense is needed most. Jordan Michaels reports in Guns America Digest: California’s draconian gun-control regime, like most such regimes in America’s history, has a disproportionately negative effect on minority communities in the state. The gun-buying spree of the last 18 months has forced some mainstream media outlets to finally cover African American gun owners, and the most recent installment suggests that residents of Oakland’s most at-risk … [Read more...]
Don’t Forget the New Orleans Gun Grab
The United States is a big and complex country. Disasters, both natural and man-made, occur often. People do their best to get through them, sometimes succeeding, and other times failing. One thing disasters are never an excuse for though, is taking away Americans' rights. Yet, that's what happened in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina tore into Louisiana and devastated New Orleans. Despite the Second Amendment of the United States, and Louisiana's own constitutional declaration of rights, which reads "The right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental and shall not be infringed," the … [Read more...]

Here's the story of one woman from Rhode Island who has seen exactly why she needed to protect herself, and actually made the right moves to do so. She writes: I recently decided to get a license to carry a concealed handgun for several reasons. One is the inescapable reality that violent crime is sharply on the rise.
